Kevin Healy embodies the fiercely independent yet good humored spirit of Texan culture that is so often treated as a novelty today. Each song he writes expresses the struggles and conquests that we all experience in our own adventures.
Healy’s backstory is as one-of-a-kind as his sound. After growing up in San Antonio and playing piano from childhood through college, Healy was briefly exposed to music performance and production in Melbourne, Australia, where he played nightly bar gigs and recorded his first set of demos. Upon returning back to the states however, Healy elected to join the US Navy and completed training as a maritime patrol and reconnaissance pilot. Healy was deployed to conduct drug interdiction and maritime reconnaissance missions in El Salvador and Italy respectively flying the P-8A Poseidon.
BIOGRAPHY
After his experiences during this deployment, and in light of the Afghanistan withdrawal, the Navy’s response to COVID-19, and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Healy developed a deep mistrust for the military’s senior leadership. After counseling with close confidants, Healy determined that he could not reconcile further service with his oath of office and presented his beliefs to his chain of command.
During this separation process, Healy built a studio in a spare bedroom to write and produce his debut LP. Featured in it are songs of triumph, heartbreak, patience, and grit that he has experienced while traveling nearly every corner of the globe. The heights of the big city, the weight of the Central American jungle, and everything in between has informed the unique approach that he brings to the historic and thriving genre of Country Music. Healy’s backstory, integrity, work ethic, and skillset make him poised to be one of it’s fastest growing artists.
